Brendon Chase and Jenna Walker Join the TerrAtlantic Team

We welcome Brendon Chase, B.Sc., MIT and Jenna Walker, B.Sc., M.Sc. to the TerrAtlantic team. Brendon has joined the geotechnical group in Fredericton and is currently evaluating the engineering characteristics of soft soils in simple shear and triaxial compression. Jenna has joined our Dartmouth office, providing technical and professional support for our geoenvironmental projects in Nova Scotia.

TerrAtlantic Geotechnical Group

TerrAtlantic recently evaluated soil, rock and groundwater conditions for the upgrading of a 16 km section of the Drummond Road at CFB Gagetown, NB. Approximately 250 shallow boreholes were completed on schedule and on budget.

The geotechnical group is in the process of completing high-confining stress triaxial tests to support the design of a 250 m high tailing dam for a mining project in the Caribbean.

Also, the group has developed sophisticated sample handling protocols to permit the laboratory testing of very soft sediments from the Beaufort Sea. This testing program includes direct simple shear tests on more than 100 samples, anisotropic consolidated undrained triaxial compression and extension tests and one dimensional consolidation tests.

Peace for Children of Africa

TerrAtlantic's Liz Dickinson is continuing to provide voluntary support to Peace for Children Africa.

New Nova Scotia Location

TerrAtlantic has enhanced the capabilities of its Dartmouth geotechnical laboratory and in addition to routine geotechnical tests are now equipped to conduct advanced laboratory testing including triaxial, direct shear and direct simple shear strength tests, one dimensional consolidation testing and flexible wall permeability tests.
